BattleBuddies is a military-exclusive dating and connection platform operated in the United States.

This Policy applies to users of the Service, including Active Duty service members, Reservists, National Guard members, and Veterans of the United States Armed Forces. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information obtained from verification providers or other service providers.

Information you provide:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, and phone number.
• Profile information, such as branch of service, MOS/rate, rank, duty station, service status, relationship preferences, age range, gender, bio, and photos.
• Messages and other content you send through the Service.
• Payment and subscription information if you purchase a paid feature.
• Any information you choose to submit through customer support or privacy requests.

Verification information:

• Military verification data, such as .mil email confirmation, VerifyPass verification result, verification identifier, and service-status category.
• Limited military service details needed to confirm eligibility.

Automatically collected information:

• Device and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, app version, device identifiers, log data, and approximate location derived from IP address.
• Cookies and similar technologies used to operate the Service, remember preferences, and support basic functionality.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

• Create, manage, and secure user accounts.
• Verify military eligibility and prevent fraud, impersonation, and misuse.
• Display profiles, match users, and provide dating and connection features.
• Send service-related messages, notifications, and updates.

We do not use verification documents or verification results for advertising, sale, or unrelated profiling.

4. Location Information

We may collect approximate location information from your profile and from your IP address to support distance-based matching. We do not collect precise GPS location for this purpose.

Location information may reveal where you live, work, or are stationed. You may leave location fields blank where available, but some matching features may not function without location information.

We do not use location information for third-party advertising or tracking.

5. Retention Of Information

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Retention periods may include:

• Active account data: retained while your account is active.
• Profile photos and profile content: retained while your account is active, unless you delete them earlier.
• Messages: retained while needed to provide the Service, support user safety, or resolve disputes.
• Verification data: retained while your account is active and deleted or de-identified after account deletion, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
• Payment records: retained as required by tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
• Location data: retained only as long as needed to provide matching and related features, then deleted or de-identified.

6. Your Choices And Rights

You may:

• Access and update your account information through your profile settings.
• Delete your account through your account settings, subject to any legal retention obligations.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at privacy@battlebuddies.com.
• Opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails or your notification settings.
• Limit location-based matching by leaving location fields blank where possible.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including rights to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, subject to legal exceptions.

If you are a Texas resident or a resident of another state with an applicable privacy law, you may have additional rights under that law if and when it applies to us.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Because the Service is not a secure DoD or government communications system, you should not share classified, operational, or highly sensitive information through the Service.

The Service is intended only for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it as required by law.

9. International Users

The Service is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
